hi all,

just to share some pics from my first tank after two days up and running. and also to invite you guys to critisize and give some hints on how to go on (decoration and stuff). some details: 10 gallon, plants are real, 3 tetra neons in there right now. plan is not to exceed 12 fish in total (like 3 more neon and not decided yet on the other 6). today i checked the water and the only thing i have to get arranged right now is ph (8.0). no nh3, no no2 (yet), gh is 5.

thank you! right now there are 6 tetra neon. not sure yet about the rest, some more neons probably to make them feel happy in a huger crowd. in total no more than 12 i thought. actually i'd like to have some that eat stuff from the ground, to have a healthier system. any recommendations on that? the idea is to have some sort of closed cycle, to get as near as possible to an ecosystem.

Looks good but i think it could do with some more plants on the left and right side or a few bits of bogwood and maybe a few coconut caves. Corys clean the bottom but dont do well on sharp gravel. If the gravel is smooth then they should be fine. In a 10G i would go for pygmy or panda corys. You could get away with
10 neons
10 pygmy or 8 panda corys
Aslong as you have fairly good filtration.

thank you for the response! you're right, there are plants missing. actually i was told by the shop guy that the ones in there will be growing and expanding. i'll give it a try and if not, i'll put in some more. sounds good to me the advice with the pygmies, i'll keep an eye on that. i just don't want to over populate the tank, so the system may be stable. i'll keep posting on things going on, thanks again!

You could get some vallis and moss balls, think it look nice, if you want to keep it simple
