I have a 55gallon tank

3 angels
1 bala
1 ID shark

anyway.. my question

my tank on the one side is at 81F , and on the other side 79F
all 3 angels hang out on the left side of the tank in the one corner semi close to the heater
but its on the side where it is at 79F, im wondering why there not making use of the whole tank??
sometimes they move around to the rest of the tank

i am not completely done with the decoration i only have one ornament and then like 5 little plants that make up the room for the rest of the tank but i want to get some rocks and a couple more things

im wondering, sometimes the ID shark will swim around very sparatically not really caring who gets in his way.. is it possible he has scared the fish from moving around and exploring the tank??

keep in mind i dont have a background thing on the tank.. maybe they just like the reflection??

Remove the ID shark and the Bala. Bala's need large groups, and swim erractically, scaring the fish, just like your ID shark is now. I would then by another 6 angel's, they also like to be in groups.

Is your tank cycled? How long has it been set up?

you need to get some good filtration/aeration...

i have an 18 inch bubble wand that turns the tank over big time...it really helps with mixing the heat around...also i have two giant external filters that have strong outflows...same thing, helps with heat distribution

If im correct from your previous post you never cycled your tank as well as you don't have a test kit. You need to know the ammonia/nitrite of the tank to really know whats going on. As stated in your last post the sharks are not good news for the angel. While they still seems only slightly aggressive now it will get worse in a few months. Its defiantly best to re home and just finish your cycle with the 3 angels. This would spare any other fish of going thrin cycle. While yes its nice to see fish in there its best that you finish the cycle so you can keep the next group of fish with minimal problems.

oh and as for the heat. When you have a single heater in a tank that size it tends to head either the middle or one side of the tank more then anything else. I would suggest 1 smaller heater on each side of the tank so that the heat is distributed evenly around the tank. Also if one heater would fail you would have another to at least heat the tank somewhat. Also we need to know what type of filter you are using so we know if it is doing enough for your tank.

I have a marineland penguin 350 power filter. 2 bio wheels. Recommended up to 70 gallons. I got it because I figured it would do a much better job. The fish never come to the top to eat. When it's flake anyway, when I feed them brine shrimp it goes middle level and they go nuts. When the flake goes to the filter, the current pushes it to the middle then they'll nibble on it. I changed the flake today to one with all protein instead of vegetable matter.. Seemed to help a tiny bit but mostly the same thing. Could the flake be going unnoticed??

well each fish has there own likes. Angels will eat flakes but I would think your sharks would prefer a differnt food. I believe they prefer live/frozen foods over flakes. Try some blood worms perhaps. Still though, is your tank cycled? Ammonia/Nitrite do affect behavior and if there is any inside the tank its important to keep it below .25 to increase there health and lifespan.
