ok so i have two angelfish, Buck and Angelica. but today i decided to get another angelfish. his name is Red Eye (cuz he has red in his eye) and Buck will be on the opposite side of the tank and see Red Eye and go after him. is this normal? should i take Red Eye back to the store? Buck never fought with Angelica, can somebody please give me some advice

He probably sees the new guy as a threat. I take it the new one is a male? if it gets worse, take him back, i dont really see the new angel being accepted

im not sure if he is, think he might be cuz when i first got buck he never fought with angelica. but now theyre really chill (buck and red eye) theyre swimmin near each other and everything. i guess i was worried for nothing

take it your 2 original angels are a breeding pair?

i dont know if they are, i just know that they never fought. but buck and red eye seem to be ok now

ok never mind, buck is still harassing red eye, but not like before, only sometimes now

hey what if the "female" goes after the new guy? or girl? well angelica doesnt really go AFTER red eye, but sometimes if he comes to near her she'll chase him away. so what is that?

Hey cupcake, how big is the tank?

If your two original are breeding pair (lay any eggs) they likely won't accept the third. If you have a small tank, less than 60 gallon, there just might not be enough room from a territory perspective for the new guy. Angelfish can be very aggressive with each other and introductions very difficult. They could pester the new guy to death, would not be unusual. So keep your eye on it. It helps to have a big tank with lots of plants so hideouts are possible.
Good luck

i have a 30 gallon. and ive never seen angelica pregnant so i doubt shes laid any eggs and i have 3 plants (im going to get more) and ive been watching them and they seem to be ok. the new is kinda shy but that could be cuz i just bought him and did a emgency water change. now angelica and red eye seem to be hanging out sometimes. so i really dont get it, buck and angelica rejected him and now they are accepting, which is good, i just dont know if i should be worried about future fighting or possible death
