And the F2 begins....

Spawned the one and only boy from my Sept 2 spawn with one of his sisters. She did great, feisty little girl!

After he was done arranging and rebuilding the nest, I took him out too. This first time I just didn't trust him not to eat 'em, so hopefully they'll hatch and I'll have a few. It's a pretty small clutch, so we'll see how many hatchlings we have soon.

I'll ask the BF to bring it home this weekend. I'm too lame with the camera to be able to do much to show the eggs, but I can show y'all the F1 generation, Parts one and two.

Actually, I guess by the weekend I'll either have hatchlings or F2 will be a bust, so maybe I will be able to get pics if they hatch...

Does it count if the eggs don't hatch? Just kidding, I'm still watching to see if they will. A watched egg never hatches (at least until you need to leave the room to eat or pee! ). And there are so few eggs - I think he had started munching before I took him out. Oh well, I've got a tiny clutch left, and I'm starting to feel like the Queen of the Tiny Spawn Land. Oh well, I'm starting to get used to it...

Well, I'm hoping BF remembers the camera, I finally remembered to ask him so hopefully I can put some F1 shots up tomorrow or Saterday. I'm so excited, I've been watching the F1 turn into cuties, but y'all haven't seen them since they were boring and uncolored. (not boring to me, but you guys know what I mean)

The babies are a week old. I think there are 6 or 7 of them, not bad considering what a small clutch it was and how quickly dad came out. Some of them are clear, and some are a little darker. I wonder if this means that I might have different colors within the spawn this time.

I sure hope some of the babies are plakats. That will be the day that I will feel as though I've truly arrived.

BF forgot the camera this week, hopefully he'll rmember to bring it home this weekend. I'd like to show you guys the F1 spawns.

Well, they're almost three weeks old, and these fry are growing way faster then my previous two spawns. I'm also noticing that I have dark fry and light fry, and small fry and big fry. Interesting, because in this F2 I have the possibility of seeing some plakats and some light colored fish (grandma's a peach beauty). I'm excited about seeing the different coloration in this batch.

Looks to be 9 of them, and the biggest are getting their dorsals. Cuties.
