the guy at my lfs store told me 2 day that he wanted to order in anablep or 4 eyed fish.......tho he said he would have 2 charge $20 dollars and since i live in a small town they wouldn't really sell.......does anyone know much about these guys.......i did read that they need sand banks and at least a 4 foot tank........does anyone have an anablep?

My Anableps killed each other. So I would recommend to NOT get them in pairs...

They are brackish fish and will get reasonably large (12"+) so will require a large tank (minimum 55 gallons). They need to be kept in small groups with 2 females to each male, they are live bearers and can be sexed by looking for the males gonopodium. Can be dificult to feed as they often will only take live foods from the surface, small crickets and other terrestial insects seem to be the best foods, they will also take small fish.
Not really a fish for the begginner and are best kept in a species only tank.

 ya not really the kind of fish 4 me.......not that i wanted one. i wuz just curious about it because i'd never hear of them b4......thanks guys :D
