An Awesome Substrate Idea

legaly he the guy owns the moon, mars and other places, but if nasa wants to land on his property im sure they wouldnt ask him.
when he claimed the moon he sent letters to all the space age countries such as russia america etc etc. not one of them had a legal way of saying he didnt own it and since then hes brought other planets also

Interesting. Although IMO it would be easier to buy "black moon sand" and convince yourself that it is actually from the moon.

Thus what started this whole affair :D

I think it would be illegal to bring back ET materials because of safety hazards and what-not. It may be classified as a dangerous or biohazard materials...

I'm going to try to get a hold of NASA later this week and ask them about the legality of it. Also, if they would be willing to even do it :D.

lol he thinks he owns the moon. there was no challenge when he claimed it because, lets be honest, his claim is so ridicules as to be unworthy of any challenge. his claim is based on the wording of the moratorium, as i have stated. the only legal way he could claim it, is to travel there and and take possession of it that way. not something he is never likely to be able to do. to my knowledge only three country's have sent probes to the moons surface. Russia landed one first. America is the only one so far to send men, and i seem to remember there is one of the oriental country's have sent one too. in law all three would have a more valid claim than this con man. the USA claimed the Moon for all mankind, and that would be the claim, as it precedes all others, that is most likely to be the truly legal one.
still its fun and not too expensive to fool yourself into thinking you own a bit of the moon :hyper:

it is an interesting idea, though the legallity of it is obscure, one thing you can be sure of is that it is not considered as a biohazard, i have held a bit of moon rock, and though i would agree i am a bit odd, lol there has been on side effects.

Russia (USSR at the time) and USA have sent probes that landed on the surface. USA have sent Men to the moon. Both Nations have returned Moon rock to earth, USA - 382 kg, USSR - 326 g (or 0.3kg)

Other than the big 2 - Japan have sent a probe that orbited the moon in 1990 and again in 2007.The European Space Agency have sent a probe in 2003 and China sent one in 2007. Nobody else has landed a probe on the surface other than crashing one of these.

Japan, China, India and Germany all have plans to send something to the moon in the future.

Getting back to the original question how much rock/sand do you think you would need for a 40G tank?

I think i used about 30kg of normal substate (eco-complete) on my tank. If it does need 30kg then it would cost in excess of $100 Million (based on how it costing $1 million for 285 g as per a court case involving stollen moon rock.) It would probably be cheaper to use diamonds as substrate!

My brother owns land on the moon he bought for some strange reason dont ask me how but he did has a certificate of ownership and everything

lol i dont know if thats true maybe he was winding me up but he said he did

correct, land on the moon can be bought. i beleive its 1 acker for £20. read the back of the pack you can buy in WHSmiths, it says that a man found a loop-hole in the documents about the ownership of the moon and that nobody had claimed it, so very simply he applied for the land on the moon and folowing the document about the ownership it had to be honoured, so simply enough a man got given the land on the moon all because he found a loop-hole and is able to sell it off as he pleases.

bet nobody new that!
lol, i realy have to get out more...

thanks thought china or Japan had "crashed" one there. i like the idea of the Diamond substrate though. might get a bit messy if your fish get an ich!

Besides, I think cheese would spike your ammonia.
thanks for that! i nearly peed myself laughing.

can't a private citizen go to the moon for like 5 million dollars? if someone can afford that on a 5 day jaunt to the moon and back, i don't see why he/she couldn't afford to pay a little extra for some moon dirt.

i think that would be pretty neat tho. you could put a picture of the original lunar landing as the background and put a bunch of cheesy alien figures as ornaments.

I think....that you're thinking of a trip just to space... not the moon.

oh  i thought i heard that someone did that. as i'm very far behind in my current events you're most likely right.

How can you possibly own a part of the moon? Who would you buy it from? The moon god?

The guy who set up the website selling parts of the moon has the right idea. Sell something which you don't ever actually have to provide, and doesn't even belong to you for that matter. Genius.

I just can't believe theres people who actually give this guy their cash.
