Just an idea...But how wicked would it be to have sand from the moon as substrate in your aquarium? Would this be possible? Legality-wise, that is, not monetary-wise...

Maybe there's a market for it? :shifty:

It would not be possible... BECAUSE IT IS ON THE MOON!!!!

haha id do it, after someone else did. lol wouldnt wanna be the guy to discover thats its toxic or something!

Since the current theory is that the moon and the earth are made of the same material, I'd highly, highly doubt that it'd be toxic. The moon rocks that have been brought back are very similar to earth rocks, except that in the vacuum environment all the volatiles in the moon rocks are missing (sodium, potassium). The oxygen content of the rocks is almost in exactly the same proportion as earth rocks.

Interesting. Although IMO it would be easier to buy "black moon sand" and convince yourself that it is actually from the moon.

I think the real problem would be getting enough moon sand/rock to cover the bottom of a tank, I don't think NASA bought that much back with them when they went.

My brother owns land on the moon he bought for some strange reason dont ask me how but he did has a certificate of ownership and everything

lol i dont know if thats true maybe he was winding me up but he said he did

why would it be illegal ????
it wouldn't be, but riding the rocket up to orbit would be, unless you are qualified.

lol he owns paper that says her owns part of the moon. it is highly unlikely that the claim would be valid. the guy is simply a man who realised that the moratorium on the independence of the moon, was only valid for Country's. so he claimed it for himself as a private individual. effectively a con man, but most realise that the claim is little more than a romantic gesture, so it does not make him as bad as say a Banker or financial consultant, now they are thiefs.

Depends.. you can buy acres of the moon online, so as long as you don't take it from the patch that Mr Smith owns that would be ok.. otherwise it's theft ;)
