If you can afford it the bigger the better, i have 120litre tank but it's a juwel, no don't add the water from the other tank if you have desease in it, start a fresh but you will need to leave it two days before you add fish, i will be fine that size tank if you can take the clown loaches back.

would that mean i could keep the angel fish?

You could keep the angels at a push not far off 30gal, but for the clown loaches i wouldn't get less than a 50gal, they need room to swim, as they get bigger they will need a 90gal.

Jesus ive just found out how big they grow upto 30cm's

now i know theve goto go shame i like them but a 400ltr tank is way to big for my house!

Best to let them go and let them have a owner who can give them what the require, lfs never let you no how big fish grow, never buy id shark they grow massive, always research fish before you buy them, then you shouldn't have any problems, never buy a fish on inpulse just because it looks cool.
