Ammonia Levels For Platy In 10 Litre Tank

So my platy is ill (fin rot or fungus), I dont have a hospital tank so she is in a 10 LITRE not gallon food container with a heater, some moss and gravel.
No filter, I don't have time (or money!)to buy one, or at least a decent one, and cant find the right size tube to make one. Even if I did it wouldnt be cycled in time.

I will be going away on Saturday for a week (hence the no time) and so cannot do the daily water changes. I will have to leave her in this container as I have African Dwarf Frogs in the main tank, and I'm not sure if they will be okay with the medication. If I took them out, I'd have to put them and my apple snails and my shrimp in the container, and I figured 1 platy will make far less mess than 3 frogs and 3 snails and 3 shrimp. Plus I'd rather one platy die than 3 frogs. Some time on her own should do her some good, as she is constantly bullied.

So how long do you reckon I can keep her in the container without water changes when I'm away, without ammonia building up to lethal levels? That is my main question.

I can cut my trip short to 5 days if need be, or could put her back in the main tank without medication and hope she's okay. If putting back in the main tank she could go in a 2 litre betta trap to stop her being bullied. But she wouldnt be being treated.

You could treat her in the separate container, then return her to the main tank. I think you can do this with a higher strength dose, for maybe 30 mins or so. I'd wait for someone to confirm before you go ahead and do that though. Ask wilder on emergencies. Which med are you planning to use?
Are there any other fish in there, or just the frogs, shrimps and snails? There is a risk of whatever she has spreading to other fish while you are away.

In theory to keep the ammonia and nitrite to acceptable levels you would need to be changing around 80 percent of the water each day, however if your gravel is old (was in a cycled aquarium before you put it in the container) then you could get away with bit longer.
I would say not long in the container for her though, because ammonia levels can get dangerous in the bags used to transport fishes from the LFS after only a short while, let alone in a couple of days, you will want to be careful.

Yeah there are 2 other platys, a dwarf gourami, a guppy, 3 apple snails and 3 cherry shrimp and a load of ramshorn snails.


wilder suggested myxazin but I'll have to get the eqivalent at Pets at Home because thats the only place I can get it quick enough .

I think I will keep her in the container for the week and treat her, but then put her in the main tank and hope for the best when I'm away... bit risky though.

For now I'm doing daily water changes.
