Ammonia Fishless Cycling

It sounds fine. Apparently the ammonia was higher than 8 at one point in time as some has been processed into nitrite already and you are still at 8 ppm. Is there any nitrate in your tap water? It would seem to be a little early to see nitrate yet unless it's in the tap water.

I will test tap water! Maybey the test isn't 100% accurate as it is a colour compare test. U know what I mean? The Ammonia test only indicates level of up to 8ppm/ Cheers

I definitely understand. On the nitrate chart in particular, once it get over about 20 ppm, I can't tell the difference hardly.

So all looks well for now. Do you know how much time ledt till fully cycled? Thanks for the info

It generally takes about 3 or 4 weeks but that obviously varies. You might want to do another small water change to get the ammonia back in the 5-6 range.
