Id splash out for eco-complete if it wernt for the fact id only need like 1/4 of a bag.

I'd go for ada its brilliant, go ask which you should ask on the american forums and they'll agree the stuff is brilliant. im pretty sure even tom barr recommends it on his forum

Thanks :good: any good anyone?
Excellent for plant growth, looks pretty good and is easy to work with. However any time I do water changes/maintenance on my 40 litre it stirs up and clouds for an hr
Imo eco complete looks better and is better as it doesn't cloud my tanks water (on an 8 gal) when doing maintenance.

Do you gravel vac or anything? My tanks water is slightly yellow all the time but I havent has any problems with it getting cloudy when I do water changes or anything. I never gravel vac though or do anything that moves the substrate (I cant really even get to the substrate even if I wanted to :) ).

Yes, I like and use it.
Easy to play with, you can get pretty creative with it as well.
Works well for folks that run things lean and it gives you back up if you space out and forget to dose if you dose richer levels.

So it works synergistically with EI or rich dosing, as well as a primary source with leaner routines.
However, any sediment that has macro nutrients will last longer if you provide non limiting nutrients to the water column for the most of the time.

Hard to argue with it and the cost is relatively that of Flourite or Eco Complete here in the USA.
Maybe a tad cheaper depending on your shopping skills on line etc.

Looks nice also.

I have several tanks that have been up for several years with fliurite and ADA, one of the EC is the large behemoth.
They all do pretty well wih less dosing needed for the ADA As, but it does even better with it.

Less light also = less demand for nutrients.

Just seen that my peppered Cory's are spawning so I think its fairly safe to say that the amazonia substrate is cory safe. :)

Aquasoil isn't ideal for bottom-dwelling fish because, when disturbed, the substrate can cause water-clouding...

So it's more of an aesthetic issue rather than a serious, life-threatening situation? I doubt the smaller corydoras species would be cause for much concern, but a sizeable school of B. multirariatus or C. pulcher, or even a band of determined kuhlie loaches(they are burrowers) might make a mess of things.
