I have a problem with my amazon swords, since I put these plants in my tank I have seen them deterioate terribly and I dont know why!!

The leaves seem to have shredded and got very thin and break off very easily, I remove the broken leaves on a daily basis!!

What can it be? Is there not enough natural light? or possibly the water conditions?

When you say "shredded" and "break off easily", are these pieces still ... hearty? That is, do they still have form and texture, or have they melted into mostly transparent goop?

Sword can do quite well in low light conditions, but yes what lighting do you have? I would of thought the problem is you need to fert if you don't! I hear sword are heavy feeders at the root so you may want to try out some root tabs. I use a liquid fert called "leafzone" as I have a variety of plants, I may try out some root tabs for the sword soon. I think the root tabs last about a month then you need to pop another oen in the substrate. :)
