WOW!!! I've been trying to breed my CT male with my VT female for about 2 weeks now. He would always pick on her so I took her out yesterday. I was just looking at them to see what they were doing and my male has been watching his nest very tensely lately. So I just decided to look into the nest and theres a few tails hanging down from it!!! I'm so excited! My female is now being treated with melafix to help her heal her fin damages. The babies should be really nice looking. My male has a black body with red lower fins, a mix of red and blue tailfins, and blue upper fins(dorsal?). My female also has a black body, she has black lower fins, mix of red and blue tailfins and red upper fins(dorsal?). It's a good thing I checked too because I was just about to do a water change, and I wasthinking about emptying the whole tank and then putting some back in, treating it and starting over. Pictures of my male, female and other 2 males will be posted as soon as i upload them to my computer.

Thanks!

I woke up this morning and rushedover to the tank, to see how the fry were doing. I can't find any of them so I think the male might have eaten them. I'll just leave him in there for the rest of today and if i don't see any fry, then I'll just have to clean out the tank and start over.
Thanks.

Be very careful using Melafix on Bettas. It's toxic to them. If you have to use it delute it first. A safer thing to try first is a small amount of aquarium salt in the water.
