Hi I was wondering if any one could offer an opinion. I have for about a month now had a few amano shrimp, the other day I found what looks to be a few baby ones floating about all at different sizes/stages.
From what I've have read they don't usually breed in tanks and if they do they don't live long, is this right? Its just this one looks pretty big

Any help wud b appreciated! Sorry the picture aint great
Nikki

From the pic I take it your looking at the creature on the leaf? If so its a mayfly or dragonfly caddis.

Yes, it definitely looks like an insect larva, probably a mayfly or something similar, not a baby shrimp. By the time baby shrimp get that large, they look like smaller versions of adult shrimp. Amano shrimp in particular need brackish water for the larva to survive.
