The card with the yellow/orange/red is NitrAte.
The card with the lightblue and purple is NitrIte.
We want to know your NitrIte.

in the api test kit there are 2 bottles for the nitrAte test (10 drops from each and a lot of shaking) then various shades of redThe nitrIte bottle (5 drops) Sky blue is good and any purple is bad.Unless your nitrItes test is light blue then no fish.....ok?
I know it's only slight but can you not see the difference in

... Actually, the 4th one down is 20ppm of nitrAAAAAAAAAtes.
But it doesn't matter. we need to know your NitrIIIIIIIIItes.
Can you test for it and tell us the reading?

Ok Ok that is the N I T R A T E and it is not too high.NOW check for N I T R I T E repeat N I T R I T E it is the test card which goes from light blue to purple. Bottle with 5 drops per test on it.Please notice the i instead of the a (it's getting late and you are not helping yourself by not reading my instruction carefully

I I think I see the problem here. You ONLY have the API NITRATE test bottles and not the whole kit.

You need the API FRESHWATER MASTER KIT which contains

2 bottles for ammonia
1 bottle for nitrite
2 bottles for nitrate
1 bottle for ph
1 bottle for high ph

Oh you are not in the UK then cos we're going to bed here soon!

ill give ya some answers tommarow then, ill wait on my puffs,ill follow the nitrites and see what i get,if i have good nitrites ill goon as planned,+ a big water change, and if i have an unsafe level ill hold off

You sound like a very sensible person. That is the correct course of action. Sorry about earlier, if you see the test kit then you will understand why we all got a bit confused when you could not grasp the difference between nitrate and nitrite.

You took the source of ammonia out too early and all nitrifying bacteria are dead (because lack of NH3) ... No offense but I bet your tank is NOT cycled and you have to start all over again ...

my tank is cycled otherwise i would have ammonia, i took ammonia tests while i had my brackish moray all 0,nitrates fine

How much you want to bet ? As soon as you will add fish there would be ammonia (show up 2-3rd day) and nitrite.... Nitrifying bacterias starved to death since you took the fish out 3 weeks back .... They processed all NH3 to NO2 and then died because there was no continuous source of NH3 ....

Anyway, I think I offended you enough and I'll not try to argue on this anymore ... Best of luck !
