btw mosquito fish are mean little buggers. Take a look at them before you buy any. they are the only fish in there tank so i don't have to worry about it but make sure you do a bit of research if you plan on buying them(or catching them) (or anything ellse for that matter.)

ok, back to the options though. Do any of you have any comments on those options?

yes some sort of fish would be good :D

EDIT: what about 3-6 mosquito fish a couple snails 5 ghost shrimp and a small centerpiece. (any suggestions) ( I think this would be a VERY harde set up

I reckon option 1 is the best: guppies tend to stick to the top/middle of the tank, while the tetras would take the bottom.

It'd be nice and balanced. And the fish would have a good amount of room to swim. :D

Ok, i composed a list of suggestions that people on this forum have suggested, that no one objected to on another thread, can I get your opinions on these options? Some seem kinda overstock-y to me.

EDIT: wow im making a lot of typos, suggestions people suggested? kinda redundant.

Option 1:
2 guppies, 4 neon/rummy nose/cardinal tetras

Option 2:
5 or 6 neon/cardinal/rummy nose tetras
4 cories

Option 3:
3 guppies, 3 platys, 6 tetra (possibly squeeze in small group of bottom dwellers, like loach or catfish)
These options. Plus a few good ones you can find on this thread.

if u have a tank ready to go and u don't know what to put in it then really..... perhaps you should put the tank on ebay. I mean, why ask.... go to the lfs and look at fish.... what u like put in the tank. not rocket science............... just get some fish, or an otter or something and get it in there and feed it and change it's water and stare at it
Well, I don't want everything to die on me. I've never done this before and want input on what would look good in the tank and be comfortable.

You are a darn fool. If she does what you suggest she'll end up with 2 rainbow sharks a common pleco and a pictus catfish. Oh and maybe a clown loach or two. god what's wrong with you are you trying to see how many fish you can kill.

EDIT: Ouch. I just broke rule number 1. But I'm not sorry and I'm not wrong, If the mods want to kick me out then so be it, maybe I saved a fish or two.

Another edit: I went into the lfs and did what you suggest with no research and no ideas except ooooh I want pretty fishies. I got two dwarf puffers and put them in with gourami's for god's sake. And the people at the lfs said 4 rainbow sharks would be great in a 29 gallon. 4x6"=24" of fish in a 29 gallon with a common plec and a pictus catfish.

This doesn't need to be a fight. But please if you can answer my initial question, will any of these options be safe? And to add to fishandcurry, i dont care if you do or do not like the look of those fish together, but do any of you know if this would be overstocking, or would these fish get along?

hey where did the loon's posts go? did the mod's do that?

I have an idea orky. Go into your local lfs and pick out every fish that you like the look of. Write down there names, what they are being kept with. Then ask the lfs to give you some info on your 6 favorites. then go to 3-4 diff websites and get research on them. Compare water parameter's and aggression. Come on here and ask us too if you like.
Any other suggestions???

Thanks, I will do that. I ws going to do that tomorrow anyways, but I thought it would be better to get a general idea of what I'm looking for first.

I am trying to get input on those options which I've put here before. I have seen all of those fish at the LFS yesterday when i went to get my crowntail. They were on my mental list.

Option 3 would be pushing it but the rest should be possible. As for mosquito fish being mean - there are 2 kinds - heterandria formosa (mosquito fish) and gambusia affinis (western mosquito fish). Gambusia affinis is a little nippy, heterandria formosa is pretty much like a guppy in temperament.

You might have relized this but I was under the impression you thought shellies were snakes, there fish cichlids, and show amazeing behavior, very personal inteligent fish, that will always be busy, fighting, digging or mateing
