Algea Removal

The back of my tank has some pretty hard core algea attached. I normally use a non scratch brilo to clean my glass but it wont shift this no matter how much elbow grease i give it. Maybe a new pad might help.

I'm scared to push too hard for obvious reasons so what is the best method for removal of such stubborn green pests?

What you're using normally does the trick and in my opinion is actually the best method of removing algae. The only advice I can give you is to keep scrubbing. Maybe push against the glass on one side with your hand and on the other with the brilo pad?

Yeah thats what i thought. I left it far too long i think causing myself more work than i could have. hey ho, live and learn lmao

I left it for ages one time but it just came off with a good old scrub

with one of these.

I shall dig out another new one then whilst the wifes not looking. I prefer the white non scratch ones myself. Not keen on the green

It didn't seem to scratch for me, just formed a cloud of green algae!

I hope you didn't neglect your fish as you did the back of your tank

Unfortunatly so but the love is back with them. Oddly enough during teh neglect they stayed healthy, a long with the water parameters.

Well that's good news

You have to keep yourself interested so you don't neglect them again. Usually people do this by getting more and more, and more tanks!
