Algea In Filter Pipes?

Yeah it normal mine as some algea but got some algea eater it will take care of it.

which algae eater pray tell can get up to your in/out pipes and clean them?

not that i excect you to return to this thread, you never do following your insightful tidbits into fishkeeping.

english isnt his first language: maybe he was talking about getting an algae eater to deal with any algae in the tank??!!

anyhoo, yes your tubes will get covered in algae. i generally just buy some new house when the other ones get bad. costs about 2 bucks. mainly for looks because as someone already said it does no harm. algae grows on the rocks etc in lakes in the wild so in some cases algae around the joint can probably make them feel a little at home

ever heard of a bit of graft?? maybe a brush would do the trick!

I bought my Tetratec 700 around three months ago and have just cleaned the tubes; you'd be surprised how much cack comes out. I'll probably buy new ones every twelve months or so - it's only a five minute job to clean the two tubes. No reduction in return flow before I cleaned them, though.
