I had a 10g feeder tank that was just smothered in green and brown algae. I finally went out and bought a 3" common pleco to hopefully clear it.

In 3 days, the entire tank was spotless.

Had to feed him lots of zucchini after that, but just a few weeks after getting him he jumped out on me, and I found him when I got home when evening all dried up on the floor

Have you checked out the size of an adult Common Pleco? I hope you're prepared to get him a big tank in future?

so sorry he bailed on ya :/

for future reference, turning your lights off for an hour mid-day creates an algae gap and really helps keep it under control

Now thats something I definately didn't know, gonna try that one, cheers

I'm beginning to get an algae problem in my tank too....not really got room for a plec, what else eats algae that doesn't grow as big...?
