Aggressive Algae Eater?

So I bought this Golden Algae for my tank.

It actually chases my Tiger Barbs from time to time. He is the same color as 3 of the Albino Tiger Barbs. But I found the behavior interesting.

Is this normal?

It could very well be a Chineese Algae Eater, this fish can grow up to a foot, and becomes VERY aggressive. As it gets older it will completelly stop eating algae and will settle on a carnivourous diet, i.e. fish. If you can post up a pic i can ID it for you...
