African......wood

Just bought a nice little piece of wood today for one of my aquariums. The store had the name of it on the shelf, but now all I can remember is African....something. Any ideas? I'll need to know if this has to be soaked, boiled, whatever, before I use it. I completely forgot to ask the store owner, we were talking about so many things at the time. Thanks.

They were probably talking about Mopani driftwood.
Does it look anything like this:

What you have is mopani, you can easily tell because it tends to have lots of knots and gnarls.
