i have a 64 litre tank with 6 dwarf noen rainbos and one bn plec would it be ok to put a betta in here or are the others a bit to fast paced for a betta as they look abit slow and lazy in the shop
if not i have a separate 6 uk gallon hex tank i could use or is this too small ?what temp would i need to keep a fish at aswell my 60litre tank is around 24 degrees atm as rainbows like a cooler tank

The rainbows might be a little too lively for a betta in the 64l, but the 6 gallon tank would be fine for one, as long as it's heated and has filtration :good:

Temperature wise, I'm not too sure... Someone here will know!

well bettas are tropical fish...and prefer temps in the mid to upper 70s (Fahrenheit)
I would recommend setting up the 6 gallon, filtered, heated, and with either live or silk plants.
it is not so much that they are "lazy" - in a teeny bowl there is really no stimulation or room to move at all....and once in the tank they are very inquisitive...a tad slower doing to being bred to have those long heavy fancy fins which really do nothing but get snagged on plastic plants, and slow the fish down a bit....but they look nice and thats why we bred them that way lol

ye i have a filter and a small heater for the 6gal but the filter has quiet a powerfull flow would this be a problem it is a foam filter that goes up to a 60litre tank

it might prove to be a problem for the betta. does the filter have adjustable flow? can you position the outflow so it hits the "back" of the tank? if neither of these are options, you can tie a piece of filter sponge over the intake to the filter. should slow things down.
cheers

2nd. ALL my filters would be too fast for my bettas had I not put foam around the intake AND out take valves.

Yes, any fast moving fish will stress your betta out (or have a good potential to). One of my girls was in with rasboras and then later a platy and she was pale and had a horizontal strip. I took all the fish out and now she's a deep blue color and very happy having her 10-gallon to herself.
