Advice On What To Get?

I currently keep all the bog-standard live-bearers. (plays, mollies, guppies)
When they eventually die off, I want to have 2/3 bigger fish.
Any suggestions?

how about a couple of keyhole cichlids? of course depending on tank size

Depends on the tank dimensions and your planned water chemistry. A tank should be at least four times longer and twice the depth plus width, of the standard adult size of a species in the hobby, but then the activity of the fish should also be taken into account (hence why 5cm Zebra Danios deserve a 120cm long tank).
