Just got this today 100 US gallons

 :shifty: :hyper:

undergravel filtration with 2 301 powerheads
2 Emperor 280 Bio-Wheel filter
300 watt aquarium heater
2 flourescent hood lamps
100 lbs of gravel

this is all for right now my adventure began today at 2:30 at my LFS when I had $800 to spend. I decided to go with the 100 gallon. The tank and stand cost $299.95 together. I figured this was a great deal and couldn't pass it up. I will keep posting pictures as this adventure progresses!

Like the wooden cabinet and hood> Not exactly sure what the price would be in Pounds, but it seems like a great deal!

Look forward to seeing updates...

that would be 150 British Pounds. I also plan on staining and sealing the stand to match my floors. I am not sure what background to use, I am thinking about just plain black.

Plain black looks great for fish tanks. It really brings put the colors in plants and fish. I went so far as to paint the wall the tank sits up against black. What do you plan to stock it with?

300 for the tank and stand is great. best price I could find was 500 for both tank and stand for a 125G. Always a shame when you have 800 doallrs burnign a hole in your pocket isnt it? Getting my tax money back is killing me because I wanna spend it on so many things, but I've been good so far

I am thinking New World Cichlids, or Mbunas...it is a very hard decision.

go new worlds. Just my opinion though, never really got into african lake species

i am going with new world...i have 1 oscar and 8 convicts in my other tank. i decided to transfere them to the bigger tank so I can maybe get one more oscar, or may be a flowerhorn

How big is your Oscar?? As when I tried to introduce another one, mine went for it and I had to take it back the same day!
(He was about 7inches at the time)

Hope it goes smoothly.

Sherman, my Oscar, is about 5" long. Also just now I ordered some Dwarf Hairgrass, Ludwigia Repens, Micro Sword, and Potamogeton Gayi. I hope all of this looks good when I get it in.

Right now my tank is still in the cycling process. It shouldn't be too much longer before i can start adding fish. My first fish will be my 8 convicts, with 1 breeding pair, and my red tiger oscar. I am wanting to add possibly a Frontosa, but i am not sure if that will work or not. Any comments on the frontosa being put with oscar and convicts?

here is the tank now

Is that a Red Platy in front of the Filter intake in the first pic? If so, the poor thing is probably scared to death! Just wondering, did you cycle?
