Hello everyone...
Just starting a new marine tank. After lots of research we'll be starting with the more docile fish first (clowns)...
...but we have a question. What the hell would you do if the docile fish have a problem and we lose them !
If you're left with "less docile" fish....how do you re-stock with docile fish ?
Are we being really dumb...?
Thanks everyone.

you should wait to add more agressive fish until some time as passed and you're sure your fish are ok. You should also quarantine new purchases if you can. That being said if you lose the docile fish and want to buy another docile fish to replace it, put the others in quarantine, add the docile fish, rearrange the tank, and then re add the other fish. This seems to make sense to me. You'll need a quarantine tank for this procedure though.

Thank you....as always....so appreciate the feedback and answers....
....but err, ok, so what do we do if we're struggling for a quarantine tank ? :(
thanks again....

What type of "aggressive or semi-aggressive" fish are you planning to add after the docile fish?
Depending on with semi-aggressive fish you have in there will give you different options.

If its a Lionfish or anything that will eat the more docile fish, add the new ones at night while the aggressive fish isn't really awake so he won't think your feeding him.
Adding fish at night time will help to prevent any territorial fish or aggressive fish from really going at the new fish.
I may also help to rearrange your rock work, but thats not always an option and a huge hassle if it is an option.
