This is purely hypothetical. I'm doing lots of research into Oscars, purely out of interest. (That doesn't mean I ever intend to buy one! I'd be too afraid!)

Let's say we have a 900 Litre aquarium, with an already established community. The community can be anything: JDs, Clown Loaches (Everyone loves CLs!) - anything - the point being everyone is alreayd nice and settled, and everyone gets along fine.

LEt's say there is a space that could be used as the oscar's territory that isn't currently occupied.

Let's assume the filtration is perfect for the current fish and even enough to accommodate a full grown adult oscar.

If we add a 2inch juvenile tiger oscar (from LFS so we don't know its temperment) are the chances of it being highly aggressive, or aggressive at all, lower than if the oscar was the first fish in the tank?

Again, this is hypothetical. I don't own this tank or any fish like these! (Well, I own clown loaches but that's irrelevant!

It is possible of course that the Oscar would grow up to be far more tolerant given that ammount of space and brought up with other fish from the start...

However... the chance of it just deciding enough is enough and turning on its tank mates and destroying them is high enough that is it honestly worth the risk? Hmm... not really... unless you had another tank ready that you could juggle fish into.

That's what I've been thinking, but from everything I've found online the Oscar temperament is hard to judge; Some say they're horrific killing machines, and others say they are peaceful community members!

unless you had another tank ready that you could juggle fish into.

Definitely! I would swear by that advise!
