hey guys, just to inform some of you who read my small algae eater thread that i have purchased 3 ottos. :)
they are getting started on my brown and small green algae problem even though they are quite small and i was wondering can anyone give me some pointers on them :)

I know they have been known to be sensitive to water conditions but my master test kit and frequent PWC show that everything is going fine, my other fish are great too, none are bothering the ottos which is excellent as they are much smaller.
so anything on them would be appreacited, thanks. (i have done light research on them btw)

Make sure you feed them algae wafers not just the algae in the tank. Apart from that, I don't know much on oto's sorry.

I read up somewhere that algae wafers puts them off normal algae :/ but I'm not sure, I was thinking of giving them blanched courgettes aswell :) lol, I was watching them today to along the face of my tank obliterating the brown algae! For little creatures they are machines!

Algae wafers won't put them off algae, they'll soon get through the algae in the tank & need supplementary feeding.
Mine love courgette, they also like blanched broccoli stalks & green beans, you can also grow algae for them, just put a stone or piece of wood in a bowl of old tank water & put on a sunny window ledge.
I've also found they like the new era catfish pellets I put in for corys

Ah thanks ! Never thought about growing algae for them :) so I could just buy a small, smooth rock from my LFS for like 10 p :D and place it into a see through container of tank water on a window sill, would it grow on that?

Also how would you get the courgette to stay on the tank bottom ?

Any flattish stone or wood will do to grow algae on, smoother the better for the fish.
I just use a fork to weigh it down, you can get clips with suckers to attach veg to the side of the tank

Have they gone in your very overstocked 60l in your sig, that gets insufficient water changes and not enough food if they are not adult fish?

Yes they have,
My water changes are fine as they are, I always have 0 ammonia 0 nitrite and 5-10 nitrate
Are you kidding? Not enough food? I'm sorry but some people feed once every two days?! Everybody has their opinions and I have mine and what I feed them is my choice, are you sure you mean not enough? :/

Before adding the Otos, your 60l already had >80cm of adult fish in it. That is very crowded, I cringe at the thought of 16 fish >5cm swimming in a tank ~24"x12"x12".

If they are adult fish, then once daily feeding is fine, but young fish need regular feeds to reach their potential size. My Rio240 is full of young Ilyodon and Steatocranus, it gets 3 feeds per day except on "famine Tuesday," I try to do two ~50% water changes per week.
