Hi Guys
I feel bad spamming the forum with questions so I will ask a lot of smaller questions in this single thread.
I am going to remove all of my fish to plants to re-scape soon, add more substrate, literally tear it down and start fresh, To keep my filter alive I plan on finishing it in one day, and leaving 6-7 Rasbora in it, will my bio load struggle going from (2 hoplo, 7 Rasbora, 1 Keyhole, 1 SAE, BN and 2 Bolivian Rams) to 6 tiny rasbora?
When I restock I will remove the 6 standard Rasbora and add a shoal of 30+ fish, Should I add the fish periodically (i.e 10 a fortnight) so that the bio-load can manage even though it is still seeded or add all 30 at once, I have heard that introduced shoaling fish sometimes choose not to shoal with the existing shoal can anyone vouch for this?
I have read that when starting a high tech tank most people avoid fertilizing for the first few days, is this good advice? I plan on leaving the 6 Rasbora in my tank until it is completely stable (30 ppm CO2, stable pH, no ammonia/nitrites etc)
Should I add anything to Seachem Flourite substrate to aid plant growth or will it have sufficent nutrients for HC, Chainsword and Blyxa?
I will dose using the EI, therefore I need, KNO3, KH2PO4 and some sort of Chelated Trace Element Mix, is this correct? Also when mixed with water how long does it last without hydrochloric acid as a preservative refrigerated? I understand the concept of Tom Barrs EI but there are so many opinions and contradictory articles on it, does anyone have a very simple guide to follow?
Are there any dangers associated with adding dry ferts to directly into the tank (rather then pre mixing?). Only saying this because most fish come to the surface when I open the hood at the moment and go for anything on the surface
I think that is it at the moment
If i think of anything else I will try to add it to this thread to avoid spamming.
Cheers
Adam
