Fish Crazy
I bought a GORGEOUS swordtail at the price of a "Brick Red Swordtail"; however, it looks nothing like any "Brick Red" I've ever seen.
Instead of the usual tomato red, he is mainly a bronzy orange on top, brighter orange on the stomach. He has a brilliant red stripe going from his nose down to his tail where it sort of joins up with the black edging on his "sword." On either side of the red stripe there is a metallic green stripe which shows when the light hits him. Over top it all are several small, distinctive black spots. He is fairly small and slender with a very long "sword."
I think that it may just be a recessive gene, but my mother insists that is a different kind of swordtail altogether.
Seeing as most of you are probably a lot more knowledgeable on the matter, I thought you might know.
thanx
