A Few Questions

Dave,

Thanks for the info on Purigen. I can see times when that could be nice to have (say before a photo-shoot! ha, that'll be the day..) So, seriously though, nice info to know.

I assumed it was zeolite as the Seachem website says it absorbs all the same things as zeolite. I take it the guarantee to instantly lower ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels is bunk if it absorbs about everything but?

I have been told, by members on here, that it does not absorb ammonia or nitrite, but I have no direct experience with this media, and TBH I haven't done a great deal of research. It might be worth PM'ing Fry_lover, as S/He was going to doe some experiments on this media....
Considering the risks of using any ammonia or nitrite removing media, I'd sincerly hope it doesn't absorb either, but if Seachem make these claims, then I'd be tempted to believe them...

All the best

Get those goldies into a pond, and the algae eater into a 55g. or larger, taking the goldfish out will take a huge load of your bioload, and hopefully help fix a little of your problem.

gold fish need arond 20g for the first fish(but thair social) and 10 for every one after that, puls over filtration,

goldies prodice 30% of their body weight in waste every day, if that gives you an idea as to why they ned such large tanks. Ponds are best though, espacially for commets (an average size of 2' and an average lifespan of 32 years if kept properly.)

best of luck
(P.S) that looks more like a 10 gallon than a 20 gallon.
