yeah i was gonna say, they're huge! And your tanks look deceptively bigger than you state them, that's awesome!

Thank you for the comments Sirminion, and Fella.

The oscars fins are perfectly shaped, their are no efections, nicks or anything on them, im surprised concidering i got him from an overcrowded tank at Petsmart. lol

And i just noticed my tanks look bigger in these pics  not a bad thing lol

thanks again

Josh

That oscar is beautiful I have four oscars my self I love them. Your tank is nice also..Great pictures.. :kewlpics:

Is that a big scar down the Oscars side? And why are his gills white? Is this jsut the picture? How long have you had him?

I am just curious by the way. I wont show you a pic of my Oscar right now cause he got in another battle with my filter intake last night and well it won this time.

Great fish
Oh, and don't bother with plants in the oscar tank,
you'll find you will be replanting over and over again, they love to dig them out

looks to me like it seems it has bigger fins than it should, maybe it was under fed and its growth was stunted, me and my sister got some at the same time, mine are nearly twice the size of hers, i feed mine on frozen bloodworms and frozon prawns and cichlid pellets

ps. how many would you think is ok for my tank? its 48"x12"x18" i have 4 in it, 2 biggish ones and 2 much smaller ones, with a big fat gibby plec

I have found alot of oscars have that 'scar', but keep in mind. mine was a rescue from petsmart. His gills arent white, it may just be the picture. I will take some more to clarify that. I have had him for prolly a week now, but he is older than that. im guessing a couple months... again he was a rescue at petsmart, they werent having good luck with their filteration so i took him in befor the water quality got him that much

Yea, i knew that pretty much. Just testing my luck :) Its only one live plant, the middle sword. it is anchord down, the rest are plastic. when they come out of the sand ill eventually just leave them out  lol

It may be stunted.. again it was a rescue from petsmart, and was kept in prolly a 15 gallon tank with another one his size. I feed mine cichlid pellets and blood worms.

And in your tank, 48''x 12'' x 18''

that is only 55 gallons, and is barely big enough for one oscar. So one oscar is the maximum. having 4 in it is way too many. your going to have water quality issues, and soon territorial issues as well.

Thank you for the comments.
