is a ph of 8.0 okay in this 75 gallon aquarium?
Stocking is:
12 cories
4angelfish
6 rams
6 rainbowfish
3 bn pleco
10 congo tetras
2 keyhole cichlids
2 Geophagus Red Head Tapajo

What type of rams? Blue rams wont last long in that. And i doubt the angels, keyholes a Tapajos will thrive in it. You PH would be perfect for african cichlids though.

I thik the pH is a little to high for the Rams and cories and angels

yeah i know, its jsut african cichlids cant live with plants, and i already have flourite so i dont want to waste it.

Also will the red head tapajos eat everything up, including the plants?

Im not sure one the plants but they do best in groups of 4+ but if they spawn it might kick of considering there quite a bit bigger than all the other fish.

okay, i guess i will have to get all of the same genders, or move them into my 10 gallon tank if they spawn,. temporarily of course

You will have problems if you go all male. And there really hard to sex when small. If im honest i would swap them for a pair of acara like Aequidens latifrons or Aequidens metae or Cichlasoma portalegrense. Because the tapajos et to 8-10" and just dont fit in IMO.

Or if you where willing to give up some of the community fish you could go for some CA cichlids like nics and TBar cichlids but they are likely to batter most of the fish on your list.

okay what stocking would you use for a 75 gallon aquarium. I like the look of nicaraguan cichlids, and they apear to enjoy 7.5 ph so mabye those would work

Honestly, knowing the water had a high pH I'd avoid most of that stock, esp the tetras, corys, angels and rams. Fit the fish around your water :good:

okay so african cichlids? any idea what to do with the flourite?

A female Nicaraguan cichlid would make a great centre piece. Im not to great with my CA cichlids but maybe something like
1 female nicaraguan
1 jack demsey
1 Salvini
12 bigger livebears maybe American-Flag Fish or ameca splendens
But like i said im not to great on CA cichlids so it will be best to see what other people think.

It doesnt have to be african alot of CA ciclids and livebearers do best around 7.5-8.

okay. Does anybody have any ideas of fish that happely live in 8.0 ph that are plant friendly?

any good fish to breed?

i understand that my ph isnt good for them but is there a way to safely lower ph?
