70 Litre Tank - Ideas Please

Thanks, just been over to have a look - seems good, plenty of choice inc. some lovely marine stuff. Love the look of the blue ram's but I see they need at least 75 litres per pair really :( Thought they looked great though. They have the CPD's there, but I quite like the Harlequin Rasboras, I assume a school of 5-6 would be okay? Also going to take my RTS there as they can rehome it for me.

A shoal of 6 would be good.

Sorry, last question I promise :) I like the look of cherry shrimps, would I be able to add a few of these in addition to CPD's x 5-6, my 5 cory and the 2 peacock goby? Going to do a water test shortly and if okay I'll be exchanging the RDS tomorrow for some pearl danios.

Thanks, will have to decide on those or the CPD's then! The danios were small and didn't seem that defined in colour/pattern, would they end up like these below? If so then I think they're the winners.

Yeah, they will - fish in an LFS rarely have their best colouration - partly because they are young, partly because it's quite a stressful situation to live in. Once they're settled in to an aquarium at home, their colours develop nicely.

Sorry, last question I promise

Again, yes. Shrimp don't add significantly to the bioload on the filter.

I got mine from this bloke here I can personally vouch for the quality of his stock, and it helps that he lives within about 5 miles of me. Miles cheaper than the LFS, miles better colouration than the LFS, and Worthing to Havant isn't that far. I bought 10 off him last winter, there were a few shrimplets in the bag too, I now have 20+ shrimp. Make sure you have some java moss in the tank, they feed off the micro-organisms that love the java moss, they also like algae, and they supplement their diet by scavenging whatever the fish aren't quick enough to nab.

Excellent, going to take my RDS to the shop later and pick up some pearl danios :) I'll also pic up some of the shrimp on your link, might go for 5 or so.

those cpd's are LOVELY!! i may have to think of a way of fitting some in...

Got some today, they are quite small but pretty. Will get some pics up soon, I like them. Just hope the shark finds a good home now, went to LFS earlier.

Not had any luck finding Peacock Goby locally. Are there any other suggestions for 1-2 main fish, ideally a mid-upper tank fish and colourful? Currently have 5 Cory, 5 Celestial pearl danio. I am thinking of adding 3-4 shrimp at some point.

How local is local? I got mine at Arundel Fisheries & Pets, in Arundel Street, Portsmouth, but they don't always have them. I did also see one at MA @ Havant.

Worthing, Findon, Haskins (some independents & MA's). Also emailed a place in Hove and Bognor but haven't heard back yet. Can you think of any other options? The CPD's seem to be doing really well now, taking food well, and brightening up in colour :)

Depends on whether you fancy a trip to Portsmouth or not, but best give them a ring first in any event. Don't expect an answer to an email, they're very "old-school" 023 9200 2887

Which was the place in Hove, Paraquatics in Portland Road? Again, not surprised you didn't get an answer to an email. The place is ok, but not very exciting stock. I've not yet found an excuse to go in the other one, by Portslade Station, but it looks a bit better. (My in-laws are from Hove)

Further afield, Coxwell Aquatics in Didcot show them on their current stocklist, and do offer delivery, for £20.

Cheers, I have seen some on eBay but a bloke is selling 8 of them and I obviously only need 2, unless someone else wants 6!? Was in Cosham earlier, should have checked here earlier!

It was Paraquatics, place in Bognor was Tropikoi.

I live in Cosham, small world innit.

Very! Apart from Peacock Goby, is there anything else that's suitable to finish my tank off? (Thinking of upping tank size yet again, but that'll have to wait for the moment).
