I placed an order for my standard monthly fish food flake consumption, before I decided to get rid of all of my fish..... Now the fish are gone,.... and the flakes arrived today!.... What now??

With the fish that I have left,.... this food would probably last me a year or more.... Can flake foods last that long??..... what storage precautions should I take?? ("Cool dry place") etc... Or maybe,... I should just make up little bags of it and sell it locally?

See my standard 20's pack of cigs just dwarfed by the Flake food packs....

I may be wrong but can you freeze it? Otherwise selling it on is a good option, maybe even profit from it?!

confetti :good:

 no seriously tho id just sell it on

When i first saw your pics i thought, oh my LV has bought some dodgy gear from Columbia
I agree with the other members LV, I remember seeing a thread which suggested fish food can go stale after about 6 months.

Repackage & sell it, Ebay or whatever. I'll get in 10-15 pounds of dry food at a time, sell most at auctions & such, feed my fish for free. I get around $8 for a half pound, that's an average local price here.

wow costs about $8 for a large tetra thing of flakes, cant be half a pound tho?

I haven't bought dry food in a shop in I don't know how long. I'm sure if it were cheaper in a shop folks would be buying it there rather than at an auction.

Fish food is silly expensive in the LFS. I don't have 100s of fish to feed like some people . I still buy my fish food online in more bulk form. Usually 1/2 pound bags. Pellets cost like $2.50 a bag, wafers cost closer to $5 a bag. I throw it in the freezer.
