60L Stocking What You Guys Think ?

hey so i have a 60L with only MTS in it atm but i am planning to put a male betta , 4 neons , and 3 male guppies and a few females ?

Male fighter and guppies wont get on-bright colours and fancy tails. It's a recipe for disaster!

Really? you were probably really lucky. I haven't kept them together myself just a lot of warnings on forums of people putting the 2 together with disastrous outcomes.
I have a 64L with a male fighter, 2 male swordtails, 4 female platy and 5 cories. My male fighter is very laid back and just does his own thing

Male guppies aren't usually recommended to go with male bettas. It depends entirely on the Individual betta as some are more tolerant and laid back than others, you must have had a calm one. If you get an aggressive one it would attack your guppies. Unfortunately there's not really a way of knowing the temperament of your betta until you get it home and observe it. It's not a risk I'd be willing to take personally.

Also, neon tetras can be fin nippers. You'd need a bigger group than 4 to go with a betta or male guppies. Maybe rummynose or glolight tetras would be better?

thanks for your help and info guys i must of had a laid back one then i still have in in my 110L now where he is happier

maybe i will just keep the fighter on his own with a few more neons or rummynose

I used to have a really laid back betta too, called Bruce. In fact, he was so laid back that my Chinese sucking loach bullied him. ( The loach was bought after some bad advice from my LFS, and got returned.)

I'd maybe get some corys to go in there too if it were my tank. They get on fine with bettas. Maybe a nice shoal of pygmys.

I think a male betta, a good group of cories and a group of other fish (eg tetras) would work nicely in a 60L Alternatively, you could set up a female betta sorority tank

Divide the tank into two or three sections and have two or three males.

As said (though it sounds like you've been swayed anyway!) bettas don't do well with guppies. Mine lived with one for a few weeks with no problems, then suddenly snapped and ripped his tail off

A good stocking would be your betta, a shoal of pygmy cories (the more the better, around 8 would be good) and some form of shoaling fish or endlers.

Female wise, you could probably fit around 8 in there? The more the better, to spread out aggression

went for a male betta (my dad old one which i loved the red one!) with 20 wee endlers was that too much ? what you guys think my dad wants some for his tank so if it to much i could give him some ?
