20 guppies
20 scissor tails
20 phartoms ( sp ??? )
in a 50 gallon tank

2 filters which together can filter a 100 gallon tank

i know its over stocking but why can i not have that
coz ........
all the fish are schooling fish
they feel happer the more there are
they like to live together & swim together
they are quite small

so why can i not have that many ?

20 guppies will soon become thousandsif ya dont have all males.

phantom whats?

they will not lots coz with 20 scissor tails they will get eaten

Phantoms :good:

I still go with the you will soon have a zillion guppies theory I have exactly that problem with dalmation mollies (any one want some just PM me  )

You could do a 100 fish in there provided you have the right fish. With guppies or any live bearer though, you'll get over crowded quickly, even with other fish eating the fry, they won't catch all of them. The survivors and their parents will breed, then those survivors breed, etc. Until you get this:

(may be an exaggeration)

I think you should be fine as long as you get all male guppies as the Scissor Tail Rasboras aren't too nippy and I believe you are talking about Black Phantom Tetras. Those can be a lil nippy but since there will be 20 of them that should be kept among themselves.

It sounds like a cool plan with a couple large schools. Maybe you should go with 10 male guppies as they pack a TON of color.

Male Guppies may fight with one another though and females can carry sperm for months and are practically born pregnant. Also, I think they might be able to change sex, though I'm not sure on Guppies.

if any guppies fry do live i can sell them to the sish store

Teelie wow that is a photo

Woudlnt you want more variation with fish?

i had the scissor tails for years in the 23 g which i through has a little small so i moved them to the 50 & i had the guppies for months & want to move them to the 50

about Black Phantom Tetras. Those can be a lil nippy but since there will be 20 of them that should be kept among themselves

i asked the women at the shop ( when i got 6 of them ) she say they were not nippy that is why i got them
