I am thinking about turning my 5ft (137G) tank into a brackish aquarium but want to make sure I do all my research first.
The tank runs two big external filters which gives about double the filtration and we have a spare skimmer if one is required.
My partner really likes Archer fish and I'm a fan of Gobies and Puffers. I don't mind what type of Goby or Puffer as they are all great looking fish! Would the tank be big enough to keep all three species and if so, how many of each type would be suitable?
Any help much appreciated and thanks in advance.

Hi Stang,

I'm sorry but I can't directly answer your questions, just I don't like to see threads go without replies!

I suggest you talk to CFC or at least take a look at the list of brackish fish in his profile, as he has a really nice brackish display tank of a similar size :good:

Thanks Geo. ;)
Had a rethink and may use the 5ft to breed Plecs instead, just can't decide which ones now!
Love your sig, fantastic photo! :good:

a 5ft brackish would be great

you could have a couple of G Tiles mrays and maybe some monos in there,

Brackish fish are a wonderfull branch of the hobby and for the multi tank hobbiest add another dimension to their fish keeping but I only recomend brackish fish if it is not your only or biggest tank, the number of available brackish species in the UK is fairly poor and it soon becomes frustrating when you cannot find anything other than common scats and monos and the odd G.tile to stock the tank with.

Thanks for the replies. :)
I've had a real good think and as much as I'd like a brackish tank, I think I'd prefer a bigger tank to achieve what I had in mind. I think we are going with the Pleco breeding tank, if I ever decide which ones to tackle!
