I got the rams from Maidenhead aquatics in Blackpool before christmas.

I have been in since and to be honest the whole shop has gone down hill. They had some lovely fish when I got them, when I went a week ago there were fish ill all over the place. I had been watching the reef display tank as it was maturing beautifully over time, all the corals were weeping. The corals for sale were not faring any better either.

I overheard a conversation with a reefer and a member of staff as well, I was disgusted at the advice being given as the customer was being urged to buy something he really did not need. I walked out in disgust.

I thinned out the angels to 4 and the rams to 4.

I have added a male Queen Arabesque plec and aim to get these breeding.

He only arrived yesterday.

I do believe I have a female BN, male been doing a bit of cleaning.

Then this afternoon this happened.

My Koi (female) and Black Marble (Male) have made a couple.

Quite the happy parents, I am sure they will eat them this first time else something else will as I do not have the space for rearing. If one or two make it then I can accomadate them for a while, but not too long.

Thanks Tarps

The new male

You will have to excuse the water marks, had not noticed them until I looked at the pictures.

Hope you like them

Thanks azzaknight

Duke (male L260 QA plec) is settling in well, he had a small skirmish with my big male BN but then took the cave he wanted, thats the one he is in the pics above.

I have some slate and will be making a few caves which will be more suited to breeding them.

Really need to do a water change but don't want to disturb the angels, that leaf becomes exposed when I do the 25%, so am really reluctant to do it.

Should not do any harm, the eggs may not be there that long this first time anyway, so I should be able to do the waterchange soon.

Ok so I thought they would eat them, they have not. They have lost over half the eggs but because they kept dropping from the leaf. They caught all the ones they could and have moved them onto another leaf. They are wigglers now, thats why they are falling I think. They have what I would estimate as about 50 eggs left, we will have to see if they manage to raise any.

Bang goes my waterchange, they seem like perfect parents.

I like your freshwater tank :). I was going to get myself a nice expensive pleco but to be honest I didn't really trust myself with them so I got a clown pleco instead which imo is just as nice.

As for angelfish I also have a pair, I have a Silver one and a Black Marble both quite like yours. They are breed although they do a lot of fighting with each other and most of the time I am too late and by the time I wake up in the morning the eggs have been eaten. I did manage to save the fry a couple of times however the horrors managed to suck the fry through the air holes in the breeding tank  .

Have you had any fry survive?
