55G Discus

Ask April to send you a link to her photo gallery with these fish. I would say adding anything that you can take out for cleaning should be fine (ie driftwood and plants in ceramic pots too.)

Beefheart can be messy, but that's what frequent water changes and BB are for ;)

For flake I use two:

AngelPlus Hi-Pro Growth http://www.angelsplus.com/FlakeHiPro.htm (This flake is super good, and cheap! You can only get it from the above site though)

Ocean Nutrition Prime Reef (most pet stores should carry this)

I would also recommend Freeze dried Australian Black Worms (http://www.blackworms.com.au/TA/) this is extremely high in protein and fats

Yes you can also feed them frozen blood worms and brine shrimp, but also glass worms and mysis shrimp.

"hikari bio gold","tetra bits","tropical" are one of the famous brands that you feed to your discus...

k thanks ill look around.im checking on kijiji.ca for a 55g tank around $125 . i seen one for that price but it came with like 40 convicts in it lol. and i was like no way! haha but ya im still looking.

oh ya i did see this ad on kijiji.ca for german discus? Are they good strains or are they bad. they look awesome.
but i need an opinion.

Was it Ray in Calgary that you where looking at? If so, yes, he did have German Discus. I saw them in person and they were very nice. Problem with German Discus is they normally need to be kept in soft, acidic water, so it would depend what your tap water is like. He may have a few more including a few Jeffery Yang Discus, but I believe most if not all of his current stock has been sold off. He will be getting some Wayne Ng Elite Aquaria Discus soon. You can always contact him for more details.

I found discus take tetra prima with gusto...Specifically for them too.

ok well his discus are awesome. even my parents liked them lol.
for the soft water i found a solution. theres this stuff at petland for discus that softens the water naturally with alond leaf extract and a bunch of other stuff. hes e-mailed me back. now i just got to wait for another reply.
