Thanks "hun", but I was only expressing my opinion. :good: If angels are too fast/scary/aggressive for discus, then in my experience rams would be too, as mine are faster and more aggressive (especially at feeding time) than my angels.

N.B Please do not take anything i say seriously. I have only had 17 years experience of fish keeping and I am unblinkered by the fact that technology and the stock we are supplied with today is a lot stronger and better than that of 20-30 years ago, which is what most of the books that people read today were written. That must also be the reason why the mortality rate in my tanks is so low as I do not have a clue what i am talking about and generally wing it when it comes to a topic on fish keeping. Therefore, through my own personnel experiences i know jack sh7t about anything and infact, any pictures i post are actually created in photoshop and any advice I offer is made up from bits I pick up from the internet.

Don't listen to him, he says so!

woah, what did i say wrong there !! i know you were expressing your opinion and i merely told you where i had deemed the information from. Gezzzz :/

I would say the plec argument is by the by anyway, as a 55g isn't big enough for a common plec.

As for rams with discus, I thought one of the reasons for not keeping angels with discus was because they're shy and angels would bully them, and also that they are more frenzied feeders? My rams are miles more aggressive and busy than the angels - I don't see how one could work and the other couldn't. Doesn't make sense at all. :/
I now agree with the discus only tank. I have a new 90g I added 15 neons and 5 very small angels. Then I added 5 discus that were 2-3x the size of the angels. The angels nipped at the discus, and they did feed too fast for the discus too.

I removed the angels to my 55g...

Now, even the neons feed to fast for the discus, the discus are new to the tank and a couple are still shy but....I now agree with dicuss only tanks, and that is what my 90g will be...

Cheers
