Well as the title says, I need recomendations on heaters, filters, lights. For a 48"x12.5"x20" 50 gal.
Got one secondhand for $50. I couldn't resist.
But my that's a lot of tank!
Also what are folks favorite easy grow plants.
I have three, amazon swords, two are too tall for the ten gallon now. Two anubius nana, two clumps of java fern. Just add ferts no cO2. Playsand substrate.
Also stocking. A female three spot gourami, will be moving in as well as two bronze and two albino cory.
The plan involves getting the cories up to six each. I know, not the fancier ones but locally available.
Eventualy want angels, but other than that what would be nice to watch?
As I said it is a budget job, so it may take time to gather all the components. I know finding just the right wood and stone will. But would greatly appreciate any advice or recomendations.

maybe a group of gouramis? i dont know much about angels but i think if you want a group you will need the tank to be heavily planted, probably safer with a pair if possible... others on here will have better knowledge on this one.

Okay to try and clear up what I am asking.
Filters, what are eveyones opinion on filters. One large, two mediums?
Heaters, should I go with submersible? Favorites?
Best lighting for plants, without co2.
Plants, to me this is a lot of tank. While my plant pallatte opens up, so does inexperience. What are folks favorite easy growing plants? espcially tall plants.
For stocking, other than two shoals of cories, and a three spot gourami, what do reccomend for a community tank.
I want angels, but those will wait until the plants mature and grow in.
