4ft Tank Ideas

With a 75 you could do a very nice Cichlid tank, or angelfish, if that's what you wnat. I'm kind of guessing, but I think you could have about 7-9 Angelfish in that tank? Maybe more? I'm not totally sure. With cichlids you could probably keep the RTS though.

heavily plant the tnak add lots of hiding spaces keep the rtbs as it should just chill in your plants just stick with bigish fish such as angels, and definatly up your group of angels, i'd say 6 minimum

Thanks guys i love this forum, couold i give you a list of what i would like in there and you just say yes or no?anyway here is the list:

12inch pleco(already with tank)
rtbs(already with tank)
angelfish
congo tetras
discus
cories
danios
bala shark
pearl/golden/blue gourami

this is just a list of what i think would look good in there.Im not saying i want all of them in there but just some.My hfavourites are angels, discus, pleco and cories.

bala sharks are a bit skittish and like 2 be in groups of at least 3, my bf had just one and the rts chased it nearly to death, he had to buy another 2.. its happy now with ...safety in numbers and all that..they can grow really big and if you have 3 you may need to reconsider..i want them 2 but my tank aint big enough :(

they are lovely fish but they do get huge.they can get as big as oscars in length.i love albino red tailed sharks.I had a 3ft tank setup about a year ago and had a rtbs and the albino vervion. They lived in harmeny! i was amazed i thought they would fight.I think i might have in my tank.1 pleco,5 angels,5 congo tetras and a rtbs.Oh yeah and about 6 cories :hey: :hey: :D

in fact i might lessen the angels and scrap the congos,i might go for some discus(maybe if i have a good filter plus the pleco will do alot of poo's)

Okay, using the fish you wanted, here is my suggested opinion:

5 Angelfish -- A group will look better, I suggest you either get all one type or all different types. Not just like 2 of one kind, 2 of another and one other kind. But that's just me.
12 Congo Tetras -- These fish tend to look nicer in large groups
3 Pearl Gouramis -- These fish may become a little skittish but I think they'll be okay, especially if you have three.

That might leave you a little bit overstocked, but as long as you have good filtration you should be okay. Also, one thing you could change is switch out the pearl gouramis with the RTS, I just think the Pearl's colors would look better with the other fish I suggested. It kind of depends on what sort of angels you get though.

nice selction.i think you have got me with that one.Wouldi be able to get a pearl, golden and a blue gourami? or would they be abit aggresive?and could i cut down the congos to 7 and get 5 cories?
if it was me this is what i would have:

1pleco
rtbs
3 gouramis(blu,golden nd pearl)
7 congo tetras
5 angels
5 cories

12inch pleco(already with tank)
rtbs(already with tank)
angelfish
congo tetras
discus
cories
danios
bala shark
pearl/golden/blue gourami

Dont get a Bala Shark ... thats a nono
Keep the tank well planted, and you can go with:
-RTBS
-12 Congo Tetras
-6-7 Cories
-And 3 types of gourami
-5-6 Angelfish

Remember well-planted. If not, the RTBS may attack the cories as both are bottom dwellers.

Hi, I have had a school of Angels before and I dont think I would trust an aggressive RTBS around them, of course you wont really know how aggressive he is unti he is about 3-4". A small group of Hoplo Cats would be great in that tank, I have just set up a 4ft with Catfish and a Rtbs, all growing to roughly the same size of 15cm/6" and although it isn't finished yet it looks quite good and is a good challenge creating room for all territories etc...

im going to have 3 pieces of bogwood for pleco and lots of plants in centre and a few long plants for angels each end of the tank if they pair off.Im definatly keeping the pleco.

angles rtbs plec should definatly stay IMO, heavily plant the tank provide plenty of hiding places, up the amount of angles and add a nic group of cories and possibly 1 more fish such as a krib or a ram, but not both and dont get apair so either 1 krib or 1 ram, as if you have a pair they can be seriously territorial, and that would be about it that just my 2 cents.

thankyou.should i buy a few ornaments or put gaps in the bogwood for hiding places.Or will he just go round the plants?
