2. 4 Female Bettas with 4 dwarf corydoras?

cancel the second one, wildwoods only does male bettas

Personally, a small planted tank would be my choice.

Substrate, planted substrate or sand with root tabs

Internal filter, the fluvals are really good, or I would always be tempted to create my own filter (back section) as it would all be hidden

Sparkling gouramis

wont the gouramis get agressive as they are bubble nest builders?
