3D Backgrounds To Cover Plumbing?

I got an Aqua Terra 3D background for my 10 gallon tank. I plan on putting it in in the next few weeks. Here's the tough part. Will it be okay to put the background right in front of my filter, heater and all that other plumbing to make sure it can no longer be seen hanging in the back of the tank? Do you think this would obstruct proper filtration, etc?

I just went to the fabric store and bought some black fabric and put that on the back of the tank, can't even see my filters or heater unless you are really looking.
