what fish would fit in this size tank? I already have a firemouth 2 convicts and a turqoise severum and 2 pictus catfish in it oh ya and a clown pleco.

Ouch. You are already over stocked. Are the convicts a pair? If so, then most of the fish will need to be removed. The severum needs a 75 gallon minimum. And that tank size would be adequate for one firemouth with dithers. Basically what I am saying is, that you need to get rid of most of the cichlids, or when they grow up, you will start to knotice LOTS of problems.

Your overstocked as it is, efasticous severums (like yours) need a minimum of 75g Fire mouth and con are okay kind of but if the cons start breeding the FM could get killed or at least badly damaged. Id choose between the FM or the cons and then you can take your tank in a better direction.

Ok the convicts are both females and the severum is only like 1 inch the convict is 1 and a half inch big and the firemouth is 3 inches also should i take back the severum? I got it on monday and i didnt find very much info on it so i thought i would just keep it until it gets to big? Thank you

Yes, if you cannot upgrade to a minimum tank size of 75g, then take the severum back. Its not a case of waiting until it gets too big, by then it will be stunted and distressed. Whilst you may want to keep it, its not in the best interest of the fish.

Yeah the issues with cichlids are as they get older it might all be fine now but few months down the line and there will be trouble. The sev needs to go asap for the above reasons :)

okay i will return it today is there any cichlid i could get to replace it?

Not in that tank, you will run into issues when the Cons hit sexual maturity and start breeding at that point they could kill your FM. Personally I would take out the cons and reconsider your stocking with the FM as the center.

What are the dimensions of the tank?

To be fair in a 35g I would saw a con and the FM is your limit cichlid wise. Some dithers like tiger barbs could work in there as could some catfish or surface dwellers like a small gar or something...?
