Small update:
 
Did not like the Pogostemon helferi so I chucked that. I've ordered Marsilea hirsuta. It looked a lot different to anything in my tank.

 
There was one Heteranthera that had grown huge but was growing along the floor instead for some reason. No idea why haha. So I trimmed a bit off the top and replanted. The remaining part of the plant is now stood up. I sort of forced it to stand up by changing its direction towards the wall. Its a bit hard to explain.
 
Pistia was covering the tank surface so I just removed nearly all of it and just left some small healthy looking ones.
 
5 remaining fry. Apparently they are easy to hatch but difficult to raise. Never mind, I just bought 6 young Pseudomugil gertrudae, hopefully 2 males and 4 females.

I think he said somewhere that it's the same as the fry he's hatching, Pseudomugil gertrudae/spotted blue eye rainbowfish

Looks like they're not available in the US. Of course.

Yeah they seem pretty hard to get hold of. Try a breeder perhaps? The only way I can get them here is one guy selling eggs when he feels like it and the other who seems to have these fish as juveniles in a shop and just posts them. So just the 2.

So here is a quick update. I wasted about £25 on carpeting plants. So I gave up on those. I am using rotala as my carpeting plant now. I've been trimming them so they sprout out to the sides to create a bushy carpet effect.
The Heteranthera has been growing quite fast so that's all good.

What is your fish stock atm?

I have one bonkers cherry shrimp left! not sure whether my boisterous sparklers took a fancy to them? I don't think it's my water parameters as my bamboo boy is ok.

6 Spotted Blue-eye rainbow fish, 10+ cherry shrimp, 3 juvenile guppies (which I'm unsure what to do with them), 1 zebra snail, and one assassin snail.
