24 Litre Tank

red mosquito larvae is blood worm and artemia is brineshrimp, mine love artemia =]

he sounds lovely! =]

they will take artemia? job done then, sadly artemia is a pretty poor diet so i will have to get some other foods.

ok got up this morning to find my tank looks like its full of week tea, arnt i glad i didnt know you had to soak bogwood  you dont need to soak LR, i thought this freshwater lark was easy compared to marine lol.

will a few big water changes effect my cycle or does it really matter?? in marine water clarity isnt the same as water quality, does this hold true in freshwaer?

So my tank water is looking very much like weak tea, will the stuff that's come from the bog wood do a fish any harm?
The wood sunk and hasn't really leached loads into the water, it's only tannins right?

Really, as long as the wood was at least washed first (to ge rid of any contaminants/dirt), I don't bother soaking. The tannic acid will lower your pH a little, which is beneficial to bettas, and they like the "blackwater" effect. Indian Almond Leaves do the same thing. I think it'll be fine :)

Water tested fine today so George came home with us and 2 more plants.
He is just floating about ATM but here's a pic

will post a tank shot later.

Just a quick one, George is doing well and has a new friend (panda cory) he also seems to have a pet snail that he likes to follow.
No pics sadly as I've been busy with my reef but will post new pics soon.

Put an albino plec in to control algae (wish it was this easy in marine tanks lol)

dunno if I am going to put any more fish in as it's a small tank.

Ps I do weekly 25% water changes is this enough/to much? It's a bit different in my main tank as corals are so sensitive to water quality.

Pps could I bung a few shrimp of some kind in or would George eat them?

What kind of plec? I don't think any are suitable for a 24l.
