This year's annual convention of the American Livebearer Association is April 8,9,10 in Indianapolis...easily driveable from where I live. Advertisements say that it is open to the public, so I am seriously considering making the trip. I have never been to anything like this before, though...closest thing being some fish shows that a local club used to put on, but that has been like 25 years ago. There is a slate of speakers lined up that includes Rusty Wessel and Jim Langhammer among others, and I am assuming there will be fish and tanks displayed, contests, hopefully an auction. Do we have any ALA members here? Or are there any other members planning on going to this? Just curious.

(bump)...any other livebearer fans here? (surely with all these members....)

Polardbear....I think that may be the thing that intrigues me the most. I would LOVE to be able to go to this thing and snag me some Montezuma swords! :D

lol I am surpirsed that rusty wessel is speaking at a livebearer convention, as he is a huge name in the cichlid world even has a fish named after him, and is also one of the few people lucky enough to have a pair of panamaian green umbee. I have also seen pics of his fish room and all I can say is that it is a dream, 20 % daily water changes done on a timer automatically, all he has to do is walk down the row and throw in some food for the fish.
