Every time my kribensis spawn they always prepare 2 spawn sites. Can anyone explain why they are doing this. They will spend 1 week preparing this vase for them to spawn in and then they will spend about 3 hours preparing this PVC pipe and that where they spawn. Do all kribensis do this or are mine just weird and do you think they are trying to trick me to where there spawning site is from Tom

probably just getting both ready incase they decide one is better on a whim...or they might anticipate moving the eggs or wigglers

Ah ok thank you very much I always thought they were doing it to try and fool me into where they are laying the eggs and at the minute they are having eggs every 3 weeks on the dot so I hope that they continue until the have some fry as I have only ever had eggs before from Tom

waiting on my next spawn myself, I had one of just eggs, one got to wigglers, so... *crosses fingers*

I am waiting for my next spawn too. It should be this Friday and so far I have had 3 eggs no wrigglers so hopefully this 4th time I might get wrigglers and although this is will be my females 4 batch of eggs it's will only be her 3rd batch of eggs with this male. Is there anything that you do to try and help the eggs or do you just let nature take its course from Tom.

I just let it be, I'm still rather new to this myself, and it takes everything I have to not go investigate haha

Your stronger than I am because I look in there nest once in the morning and once in the evening just to check that there are still eggs in there. Does anyone know if that could affect them and could that be the reason I have not had wrigglers before.

by look in the nests do you mean you actually lift up the caves and look inside or like shine a light in from outside and try and see in? because if you actually go in and mess with it that can totally freak out the parents and they'll eat them.

I mean shine a torch in from the outside once I know there are eggs in there I never put my hand in the water. I hoping for some good luck this time as I have only had eggs before and really want some fry as I have only ever achieved raising fry from live bearers from Tom

me too, plenty of guppy babies, this is my first attempt at an egg layer as well.  My kribs are in their own tank (mostly) there is one preggy guppy in with them and a pleco.

Yeah mine are in a tank on there own apart from some rummies to keep them company and to make it a bit more natural for them. How often do yours lay eggs from Tom

I've only had them lay twice, first time just eggs, second time wigglers. so I'm hoping for swimmers this time.  Once I get some swimmers I think I'll move the parents back to the community tank so they don't get snacked on.

Yours must be better parents than mine as mine always seem to eat there eggs. I have never had wrigglers or fry but would like to see some just so I know they are making some progress it's just so annoying from Tom

I have had this pair for a year and still they have only had eggs but I'm glad they are trying more regularly now as before I would have to wait months before they spawn again but at least it's only 3 weeks now. I was wondering would it be possible to separate the eggs from the parents. Hatch the eggs out and then introduce the fry to the parents again or would this not work from Tom
