180 Litre Tank,cardinals,phantoms,what Else?

Probably too late now minnnt but try ssslllloowwwllyyy acclimatising them, like over 2-3 hours, they seem to be pretty sensitive to changes IME

I wanted something with different colours hence why i liked the HG's but then the Platties jumped out at me for £1.50 each. Fitting in very well at the moment but they have some growing to do as they're in with 2 adult Angels and a fully grown Ellioti!! Also bought another 5 Cardinals to add to my surviving 3. Hoping they do better than last group of 9 from which 6 died within 2 days. They're no where near the same colour as my own 3 but they're all together very tightly indeed. They're in a 125 litre tank so i am thinking of eventually ending up with somewhere around 20. When i rehome my Rainbow Cichlids with a fellow member on here i am going planted in there too! :)

The cardinals that i brought are not as colourfull as the older ones i have, the blue is fine its the red stripe that is letting them down.Hopefully as they mature and have a mixed diet the red might brighten.
I have 20 Cardinals in my tank, they very rarely shoal together, usually all over the tank, and in several small groups.
I am looking forwars to seeing some more Gouramis, they are also getting in a colour variation on the Honey.

This is exactly what i did with the first lot. I added a small amount at a time of tank water to the bag, left the bag open and clipped to the top of the tank with the lights off. This time i placed them in the bag in the top of the tank for 15 minutes then just chucked em in! Seemingly fine at the moment... time will tell i guess. lol.

The colour morph will be the yellow i believe. Very pretty, but the original Honey's are brilliant.

The new cardinals are 'green' rather than blue at the moment. The red isn't as deep also, but as they settle in and feed up on prima and live food i am hoping they become the same as the others.

Added more wood and a few more leaves, also 2 coconut caves with moss on them(made myself)
Sorry about the picture quality, its an old camera.

Plants are growing well and fish seem happy,Apistogrammas seem very shy at the moment.

Looking good nicolaisam! Could I ask what colour & make your substrate is?

It looks very good! Not too dark, not too light.

Its Dennerle Black quartz gravel, its a very small 2mm ish rounded edge gravel.
I used nearly 20KG in this tank.
I did think something looks familiar... that stuff is the best black gravel I have ever seen or used. It is not dyed, it is just crushed black rock, so it doesn't loose colour, but that is also why it is more expensive than dyed gravel.
